Shared low-power rail: USB-C3 and USB-A draw from one 5V⎓3A (15W) rail. If a low-power device is on USB-A — or a phone is trickle-charging (battery ≥ 80%) — the normal output of USB-C3 is reduced. It's not recommended to charge a watch or sub-5W device on USB-A.

How the split works

Output isn't a free-for-all — it follows a fixed profile. USB-C1 / C2 are the full-power PD rails, USB-C3 is a lower PD rail, and USB-A is the legacy QC/SCP rail. Occupying a port re-applies the profile for that exact combination — that's the flicker you see.

The shared low rail

USB-C3 and USB-A sit on one 15W rail. Used alone, each can take more; used together they split a single 5V⎓3A budget (≈7.5W each) — shown by the amber bracket linking them on the charger.

A↔C Protocols

PD — Power Delivery
USB-IF standard; negotiates voltage & current dynamically.
QC — Quick Charge
Qualcomm fast charge on the USB-A rail.
SCP / FCP — Huawei
Low-voltage/high-current (SCP) and legacy high-voltage (FCP).
